ARTIST STATEMENT
My photography is rooted in a mindful encounter with the natural world, where light, atmosphere, and quiet moments reveal subtle emotional resonance.
Through considered composition and an emphasis on the interplay of light and shadow, my images invite viewers to slow down and engage with place in a personal, immersive way. The work seeks not just to depict the land and its creatures, but to evoke the presence and connection those scenes hold for me, and hopefully, for those who encounter them.

Jaclyn Tanemura is a Canadian photographer based in British Columbia. Her background spans fine-art landscape, editorial, and commissioned photography, with professional experience in wedding, and commercial work for outdoor and tourism-focused clients.
She has led photography workshops in backcountry settings and brings a strong emphasis on atmosphere, storytelling, and emotional restraint to her current fine-art practice. Her work has been published in print and online, and she is increasingly drawn to editorial photography as a space where narrative, place, and visual mood intersect.
